Modernfold Acousti-Seal 931 in the Steuart Tower in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district.

Project Details

Twitter decided to located their new corporate headquarters in the gritty Tenderloin district of San Francisco. Twitter has high hopes that the influx of tech workers there will spur a mini-renaissance of the long neglected neighborhood. The 1937 Art Deco building stood vacant for 50 years before twitter moved in. The facility features a nature theme with various rough-sawn wood accents that carry throughout the spaces.

The two Modernfold Acousti-Seal 931 operable partitions within the facility are used to separate on elevated dining hall from the main cafeteria and lounge. When large gatherings are held in the lower cafeteria seating area, the panels can be retracted in order to view the balcony area above. Each Acousti-Seal 931 panel is covered in rough-sawn knotty cedar wood planks to blend in with the nature theme that runs throughout the space. The expandable closure panels are covered in a bronze colored Belbien that complements the rustic quality of the wood.
